Suzanne LeRoy

d. September 15, 2021

On September 15, 2021, the world lost a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Sue (Suzanne) Jeanne LeRoy. She passed away with peace and reassurance by her Lord and Savior surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She was 77 years old.

A lifelong Minnesota native, Sue was well-loved in her small town. Sue was the eldest of twelve children. Despite her large family Sue always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her daughter and grandchildren that meant the world to her. She would proudly boast about all her grandchildren, their many accomplishments and her eldest grandchild Sylvester graduating from college and continuing to his masters. Sue completed schooling in her earlier years and successfully became a nurse where the foundation for her grace and love to help another flourished. She retired in the late 90’s from John Deere and continued to devote the rest of her life to the Lord and her family daily.

It would be wrong to say that Sue lost her battle because she never stopped fighting or praying in the light of the Lord. Though Sue’s health was failing for months, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life, love for the Lord and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.

No matter how sick she was, she was always determined and willing to help and be present for her family. When anyone else would have broken, Sue stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

Sue was preceded in death by her loving parents Lawrence and Rosanne Friendt, sister Lynn Splittstoesser and brother Jim Friendt. She is survived by her daughter Christina LeRoy, grandchildren Sylvester, Aajahn, Avaliyah, Lynnden, Clifford, and siblings Rick, Dave, Kathie, Paul, Faith, Ellen, Bob, Andy and Mike.

Sue’s greatest love was her family. She adequately and proudly wore the name mom and grandmother, rightfully so. She is dearly missed and appreciated.

Her family invite you to join them for a homegoing service. The service will be Sunday at 1pm with a viewing held prior to from 11am – 12: 45pm at Simple Traditions funeral home and cremation 488 Humboldt Ave South, St. Paul MN. There will be a small repast held at Joseph’s Grill 140 Wabasha Street South, St. Paul immediately following the service. Her family welcomes you to come fellowship, give thanks and celebrate the life of an amazing woman.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy hospital for their exceptional care, and everyone for their support to Sue in her journey. We would also like to thank Pastor Ronald Fulford for coming and giving Sue blessings and guidance to walk into the gates of Heaven. Renee for providing beautiful music for her service. Special thanks to Sue's stepdaughter Tamika Patnode and Felicia Davis for all their help and support with her arrangements during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Sue, in the loving arms of your Savior; your family will be O.K.
