Jose Francisco "Hadji" Holguin

June 27, 2023

Obituary

July 20, 1959 - June 27, 2023

Our dearest Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend,
passed away peacefully and surrounded by loving family on the evening of June, 27th, 2023.

Preceded in death by his sister, Susana Garnica Holguin.
Survived by his wife, Maria Tereza Holguin, children, Amaris and Ivan Holguin, mother, Mary
Suarez, sister, Elizabeth Marie Send, brother, Daniel Vincent Holguin, countless loving nieces,
nephews, dear friends and even a beloved pet.

Hadji was born to Mary Holguin in El Paso, Texas, on July 20th, 1959. He graduated from
Bowie High School in 1977 and earned awards and recognition while working at Fort Bliss,
Texas, in Graphic Design. Hadji began dating Tereza Salas in 1982. Together they enjoyed
hiking, swimming, dancing, and trying new foods. Hadji and Tereza welcomed a son, Ivan, and
got married on October, 28, 1990. In 1994, they moved to the West Side of St. Paul, Minnesota,
and welcomed a daughter, Amaris, in 1998. As a family, they traveled to Dallas, Texas,
explored the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and took many road trips across Minnesota and
Wisconsin.

Hadji was employed at Securian Financial in downtown St. Paul for over 15 years before
working in the Minneapolis Public School District at Roosevelt High School and at the Mount
Airy Boys & Girls Club. He was known as a neighborhood father and served as a great parent to
whoever needed one. Hadji spent his free time cruising in his 1988 Pontiac Firebird, cheering on
the Dallas Cowboys, attending mass, chaperoning field trips and enjoying an order of Chico's
Tacos when visiting family and loved ones back in El Paso, Texas.

His humor and commitment to faith,
His easygoing and dutiful nature,
His charming smile and very presence will be greatly missed.
