Jodi Lynn Hayne, 39, died peacefully on April 5, 2022, at U of M Hospital, with her mom and dad holding her hand. Her family is proud that she was a donor and was able to give another the gift of sight.
Jodi had the biggest heart and truly loved life. Anyone who met her, loved her and she could make friends with anyone. She was a true friend. Even in her lowest times, Jodi would give the shirt off her back to anyone, even a stranger. She had a smile that would light up a room and people were drawn to her, especially little kids, many of whom called her “Mama Jodi”. She was proud to have so many “kids”.
Jodi graduated from Como Park Sr. High school in 2000. During high school, Jodi was given the opportunity to go to Germany as an exchange student, was on the cheer team and was a member of ROTC.
Jodi really cherished time with family. Summer fishing at the family cabin or being “up north”, she was happy as long as she was with her family. Some of her favorite things were the traditional Halloween haunted house, Easter basket hunt in the woods, riding the 4-wheeler and Wisconsin Dells. Once they even talked her into a helicopter ride over Lake Superior. She was an amazing daughter and so much fun to be around. She was the best big sister to Mike, Madelynn, Albert and Stephanie. She really had a love for Jesus and we know that she is in Heaven walking hand in hand with her little brother, Jake.
More than anything else, Jodi really loved being a mom. Mark and Mariana were her world. She was so proud of them and made sure everyone knew it. They always came first before she would think of herself. When Jodi got sick, Mark and Mariana were there to take care of her the best they could, no one knowing how truly sick she was. When she was kept in the hospital all those months, the worst thing for her was not to be able to be with her kids.
Our dear Jodi Lynn, you were always a fighter and so many of us watched to try so hard to win this battle. As much as it shatters our hearts that you are gone, you are free, wrapped in God’s arms and out of that terrible pain.
❤️ Fly high angel until we’re together again ❤️
