Daniel J. Frid

DANIEL J. FRID, age 74, of Johnson Creek, WI, passed peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2022. He struggled living with Alzheimer's for several years yet did so with much grace.  Dan was an easy-going person, even in the midst of his condition. He had a warm smile and heart and was generous with laughter.

Dan was a Vietnam Veteran and served under the rank of Specialist in the Army.

Dan worked at Midwest Patrol as a security guard. Dan worked a number of years as security for William-Mitchell Law College in St. Paul, MN. He also drove for Loomis-Fargo as well as Brinks in Madison, WI.

He was a kind man and friend, who loved the simple things in life. One of the notable things about the person he was, is every Saturday morning he took his mom out for breakfast. His Mom lived to see her wish fulfilled: to see all her children marry.  Dan was the last of his siblings to marry, and he was able to share a last dance with his mom before she passed.

He loved his wife and daughter dearly.  He loved going to flea markets, antique malls, and gun shows. He enjoyed collecting and fixing up Coleman lamps and lanterns, hunting at the cabin with his friends, Rendezvous with friends, and spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Dianne, daughter Victoria.  Siblings: Jo Ann and Gary Hitz, Frank and Kathy Frid, Mike and Mary Lu Frid.  Nieces and Nephews: Jim and Lori Hitz, Lisa and Gabe Schoer, and Mark Hitz; Stephanie and Sheldon Struthers, Greg and Bobbi Frid; Jeff Frid, Jenny and Joseph Jenson

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annette.

A Memorial Service will be held at (Bradshaw) Simple Traditions - Highland, 671 South Snelling Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55116, starting at 10am, Tuesday April 5th.  Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with full cemetery honors, promptly at 11:45am.

Light lunch will be held at the VFW Post 6690 following the interment located at 1323 Sibley Memorial Highway, Mendota, MN 55150.
