February 8, 2022 1:56 PMMy dear brother-in-law Chon, (Cuñado, as I usually called you), you will definitely be missed. I have so many great memories of you. My very favorite is the way that you would great me whenever I saw you. From the time you became my brother-in-law by marrying my sister Gloria, you would always call me Cuñada and then ask me if I learned how to speak Spanish yet. Of course my answer was always "no". It seems like such a simple conversation for it to be one of my most treasured memories of you. But that was our thing for over thirty years, up until the last time I saw you. I can still picture the day I met you. It was October 1981 when my dad had his heart attack and you came with Gloria to be at the hospital with our family. From that day forward and when you officially became part of our family, you were always there for us. I will remember with fondness how when we would be down at Treasure Island and Westside was playing, you would always manage to have a dance with me. We did it every time. Another of my treasured memories is when I was with my sister and her daughters with you at the hospital when you were going to have your heart surgery. When they were getting ready to take you for the surgery, I told you I loved you and you told me the same and you told me to keep your dancing shoes clean because you were were going to be okay and you and I had some dancing to do. I will remember that always. There are so many great memories from over all of the years You will forever have a special spot in my heart. You will be missed Cuñado
