Wayne Nystrom

Wayne Kenneth Nystrom age 86, of Pine City, passed away on May 6, 1938.

He was born on May 19, 1938 to Oscar A. Nystrom and Magna (Amanda) Eckre in Milwaukee, WI. When Wayne was 4 years old, his family moved to Minneapolis. At the time, there were 6 children and a 7th child would be born later. Wayne attended Robbinsdale High School. He was drafted into the army during the Vietnam Era. He liked to share stories of his service with others.

Although never married, Wayne stayed close to his family. He worked in Construction mainly. Doing such work as roofing, Landscaping, pallet maker, and mainly concrete work alongside his brother LeRoy.

Wayne is survived by several nieces and nephews, and 1st and 2nd cousins. His last few months were spent in a nursing home in Minneapolis. His memory and sure-fire wit remained, until his final days. He was visited often by cousins and nieces and nephews, many times with a strawberry shake and hamburgers brought to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Winston, Yvonne (Vonnie), Laverne (Vernie), Arlene, LeRoy And Leonard (Lenny).

He will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling. A date this summer is yet to be determined for burial.
