Tua Lo LY, 54, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes.
Tua was born in Banxone, Laos, in 1972 to Chuck Kay Lee and You Vang.
Tua has 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
During the Secret War in Laos, his parents fled their homeland to escape persecution and sought refuge in France, where they lived for more than 15 years.
In 1990, Tua's parents made the decision to bring their family to the United States in hopes of building a new life and a brighter future.
After arriving in the United States, Tua earned his high school diploma and worked as a teacher's aide in several elementary schools.
Throughout his life, Tua faced significant personal challenges, including living with a mental condition. Yet, these challenges did not define him or stop him from pursuing the life he wanted to live.
He has a good heart. He remains grateful and appreciates the little things that are offered to him, never taking them for granted. Despite the challenges he faces, his kindness and gratitude continue to shine through.
Tua continued to live life on his own terms, embracing his independence and seeking peace in his own way.
Tua lived according to the values of Confucian philosophy and expressed a wish for his funeral to follow Buddhist traditions.
May our brother, Tua, find peace and freedom from suffering. May his journey onward be gentle, and may he be remembered with compassion, dignity, and love.
