Tha Wah was born on March 2, 1975, in K' Saw Wah (3rd brigade operated in Klerlweehtu district). He grew up with three siblings, born to his parents Jaky and Bo Tu. He completed his education at Pway Baw Lu High School.

In 1997, Tha Wah married Nay Blut at the K Tu Kloe refugee camp in Thailand. Afterward, he returned to his hometown and worked as a teacher. during this period, he and his wife had five sons and faced numerous hardships.

In 2009, Tha Wah moved to Mae La Oo refugee camp, where he expanded his family with three more children-one daughter and two sons. While living there, he served as a Station Leader, contributing to the community until his resettlement. Tha Wah resettled in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on April 17, 2017. He had one more son after moving to the United States, bringing his total number of children to nine. He lived in Saint Paul for nine years until his passing on March 3, 2026. This biography highlights Tha Wah's journey through resilience, family dedication, and leadership across different countries and challenging circumstances.
