Teresa Ann Schlichting

Teresa Gamsky Schlichting passed away on April 9, 2026.

Teresa was born Teresa Ann Gamsky on December 31, 1962 in Milwaukee. Teresa was a graduate of Wauwatosa West High School class of 1981, received her bachelor degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985, and received her master of business administration from the University of Minnesota in 1988, where she met her husband Mike. Education was very important to Teresa, and she encouraged and supported her children in pursuing advanced degrees.

Teresa was the life of the party, who shared her love and joy freely and invited everyone to join her. She brought an "all are welcome" policy to life, and opened her doors to anyone in need of love and support. Teresa loved music, traveling, cooking, and spending time at the family cabin. She passed her love of crafting and fiber arts on to her children.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Schlichting; her children, Regina Schlichting, Clai Schlichting, and Anne "Annie" Schlichting; her brother, Thomas Gamsky; and extended family and friends.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Joan Gamsky; and her sister, Amelia Adams.

A celebration of Teresa's life will be held on April 25th, 2026 from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Braemar Golf Course Valliere Ballroom, 6364 John Harris Drive, Edina, MN 55438. A light lunch will be served. We invite those in attendance to wear brighter colors in celebration of Teresa's vibrant personality.

We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Teresa's name to Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund or to Bridging, a non-profit organization Teresa volunteered with that provides furniture and household goods to those experiencing housing insecurity.
