Steven "Steve" T. Rother of Dayton, MN passed away on May 29, 2025, after a year-long battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
Steve was born on December 17th, 1952 to Ted and Marilyn Rother in Minneapolis, MN. In 1971-1973 he went to North Hennepin Community College and got his AA Degree. He started at St. Cloud in the fall of 1973-1975 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning. He worked as a plumber for 42 years, working at Egan Companies at North Memorial hospital. He married Nancy Rother (son Timothy Anderson) on July 14th, 1979. They had one son together and raised both boys in Dayton, MN. He leaves behind his wife Nancy, Princess Abby, and sons Tom (Denise) Rother Becker, MN, and Tim Anderson Crosslake, MN. He also leaves behind 5 brothers, Ted, The Villages, FL, Mark (Susan) of The Villages, FL, Bruce (Pam) Dayton, MN, Brian Osseo, MN, Joel (Connie) Rogers, Mn. And grandchildren Carter (Adrienne), Natalie, Jacob, Emily, and Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Marilyn Rother.
Steve was known for his ability to accomplish great things all on his own, also his witty jokes and the ability to make his family and friends laugh. He also loved his Bible study and the group of family he formed there. He spent his free time at his cabin on Lake Ada where he loved being outside and on the water with his dog Abby.
Steve's service will be held at The Wyndham Gardens (9200 Quaday Ave. NE Otsego, MN) on June 14th, 2025. Visitation at 12:00pm, with service to follow at 1:00pm. Luncheon to follow the service.
