Age 71 was called home to heaven on January 9th 2026. He was surrounded by loved ones and welcomed into the arms of loved ones passed.

Proceeded in death by son Josiah, parents Felicitas and Ysmael Hernandez , brother Ysmeal Jr., nieces Olivia and Maria Mcintosh, brother in law Wade Mcintosh.

Survived by son Joshua J. Hernandez, siblings Linda Hernandez,Christina Martin, Juanita Hernandez, Ida Foster, Raymond Hernandez, Mario Hernandez, and Anita Sprosty, grandchildren Devon, Jayce, Janaya, Landeen, Jonah, Joshua Jr., Frankie Landeen. Also many nieces and nephews

Sam grew up in St Paul and attended Harding High School. Sam later was employed as a custodian for the St Paul schools. He also worked as a bindary machine operator.

Sam had many friends and would have a friendly conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere. He loved to talk about the Bible, versus and teachings he found helpful to others.

Sam enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, reading, movies and outings with family and friends.He was known as Grampa to many littles. He is loved by many, and missed by all.
