Ricky Hoskins, age 66, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Ricky was born on January 14, 1960, in Rock Island, Illinois, to his loving parents, Thero Hoskins and JoAnn Cauthen Hoskins. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Ricky was a kind and gentle soul with a warm heart and a smile that could brighten any room. He loved basketball, but his greatest joy was cruising with his family. He especially loved visiting Jamaica, where he created some of his happiest memories. Those special moments of sunshine, laughter, travel, and family will forever be treasured.
Family meant everything to Ricky. He adored his nieces and nephews and shared a special bond with his brother Bobby. During his final days, he was surrounded by the people who loved him most, bringing him comfort and peace.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry. He leaves behind his siblings, William, Bobby, Joyce, Deborah, Felicia, and Richard, along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for every memory Ricky gave us. We will remember his gentle spirit, his beautiful smile, his love of family, and the happiness he found in life's simple moments.
Ricky, you were deeply loved, you will be forever missed, and you will always remain in our hearts. Until we meet again, rest peacefully.
A private family committal service will take place on September 23, 2026, at Oakdale Memorial Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa, where Ricky's earthly remains will be laid to rest alongside his father, Thero, and his brother, Larry.
Ricky's family sincerely thanks everyone for their prayers, love, and support.
In celebration of Ricky's life, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
