Patricia "Patty" Satern passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 14, 2026. Patty was born in Jamestown, ND to Elizabeth and Sam Milek.
After graduating high school in 1962, she married Gary Satern. They lived in Washington State for three years before returning to North Dakota and making their home in Bismarck, ND. Patty had two daughters - Pamala (Mike) Marthaller and Paula Satern both of Minneapolis. She had one granddaughter - Ava Marthaller, St. Louis, MO., whom she shared a very special bond with. Ava was the light of her eye and brought her endless joy.
In 2023, Patty and Gary moved to Minneapolis to be closer to their daughters and granddaughter. They are grateful for the time they had together, enjoying car drives, trips to Dairy Queen, playing bingo and laughter.
Patty worked in retail at Lund's Jewelry and Walker and Daughters and was very knowledgeable about gemstones. She was also very creative - an excellent seamstress and sewer, made beautiful needle work, china paintings, and was also a wonderful cook and baker. She made homemade cards and enjoyed sending them to family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Satern, who passed away days earlier on June 9, 2026; parents, brothers, James "Jimmy" Milek, Jerome "Sparky" Milek, sisters, Joy Lippert and her twin sister Pamala (Penny) Peterson.
She is reunited with her twin sister who she shared an unbreakable bond and will be sorely missed by her family and friends in Bismarck (Carol Keller and Judy Leier- thank you for the years of friendship!)
The family will have a private remembrance.
