Dr. Patricia Ann "Pat" Pulver, née Phillips, formerly of Canandaigua, New York, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at home in Woodbury, Minnesota.
Born on May 25, 1955, in Rochester, New York, Pat was the sixth of ten children of Beatrice Lange Phillips and Robert Phillips. She graduated from Newark Senior High School in 1973 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia, a master's from Nazareth University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Buffalo.
In 1978, Pat married Bern Pulver at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Newark. They raised two daughters, Janna and Carly, and lived in the Town of Canandaigua for nearly 35 years before moving to Woodbury in 2025.
Pat began her career as a teacher's assistant and taught in Newark middle and elementary schools. In 1992, she joined Keuka College as an adjunct professor and became a full-time faculty member in 1996. Over her 28-year tenure, she held several leadership roles including graduate program director, associate dean for academic programs, and division chair. She retired in 2020 with the title of Professor Emerita.
A dedicated educator, Pat played a central role in shaping Keuka College's Education Program. She was instrumental in developing and registering key programs such as Early Childhood Education and the Master's in Literacy. Her contributions were recognized with numerous honors, including the Presidential Merit Award, the Keuka College Presidential Award for Sustained Outstanding Achievement, and the Keuka College Professor of the Year award.
Dr. Pulver will be remembered as a beloved professor, a distinguished researcher, and a visionary mentor to students and colleagues at Keuka College. Her influence on the Education Program and the lives she touched will continue to inspire for years to come.
Pat enjoyed reading, games, murder mysteries, walking, bicycling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister Sharon (Frank) All, brothers Bob (Pat), Mike (Josie), and Patrick; and niece Lisa (Rod) DeLyser. She is survived by Bern, Janna, Carly; siblings Tom, Pam, Dave (Betsy), Sue, Jeff (Patty); many, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A memorial and remembrance ceremony will be held at a future date in the Newark/Canandaigua area. Interment is planned for Riverview Cemetery near Gypsum in the Town of Phelps. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Pat's name
