Pamela Mason Winfield, age 75, of Burnsville, Minnesota, was welcomed into the loving hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Pamela was born on September 19, 1950, in Austin, Minnesota, to Joseph Mason and Lucille (Mac) Mason. She grew up in Independence, Iowa, where she attended St. John's Catholic School. She went on to earn a master's and principal's certification from the University of Northern Iowa, embarking on a fulfilling career in education.
A dedicated educator, Pam served as an elementary school principal in the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools. She founded the Sage Academy at Westwood Elementary, which had an amazing impact on so many gifted children. She was known for her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to students, teachers, and families. Her warmth, resilience, and positive spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Pam is survived by her husband, Edmund "Ed" Winfield; her sons, including two bonus sons, Matt Winfield (Kelly Steger), Nick Thomas II (Aly), and Chad Rowray Jr. (Amanda); her sisters, Susan (Cory) Kissell; and Jill Mason, grandchildren Isaiah Frazier, Ellyanna Cook, and bonus grandchildren Aleena Bowman; and Brice Bowman, nieces and nephews Jeremy (Amy) Turgasen, Mike (Danielle) Turgasen, Amanda (Jeff) Schwarting, Rob Kissell, Sarah Kissell (Greg Hubacek), Brooke (Bryan) Fletcher, Ben (Tara) Allison, grandnieces and nephews, and many beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edmund Mason and Lucille McNeely Mason; her sister, Mary Beth Turgasen; and her brother, Joseph Edmund Mason Jr.
Pam will be remembered for her deep love of family, her passion for education, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished.
Rest in peace, Pam. You will be deeply missed by all who loved you.
Visitation will be Monday July 6th, 2026 at 10am at St Thomas Becket Catholic Church, with a funeral mass to follow at 11am.
