Nila Rae Ouska, born July 17, 1943, died June 1, 2024. Nila was born in Winona, MN, raised in Winona, MN until she graduated from Winona High School. She married Stanley Eide in 1961, had two sons and resided in Rushford for several years. Nila moved to Minneapolis in the early 1970's after receiving her bachelor's degree in accounting at Winona State University. She married James Ouska in 1997. She worked for several corporations as controller, CFO, had her own consulting firm and in her last job was an accountant for MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.)

Nila is proceeded in death by her mother, HazelMae Peterson, stepfathers Roy Peterson and Floyd Hodge, her brother Marty Peterson, her husband James Ouska and granddaughter Penny Eide Hermann.

She is survived by sons Kevin Eide (Beverly), Oakdale MN, Kyle Eide (Jennie) Minneapolis, brother Duane Peterson, Winona, sister Sandy Walsh from Texas, grandchildren Nicolle Newman, Matthew Conner and Shawn Eide and great-grandchildren Kadence Olufson, Karley Olufson and Tristan Moreault, her aunt Lois Bakken and several Bakken cousins. Nila also had many devoted and loving friends. Nila was a strong, caring and generous person. She loved her sons fiercely, like a mama bear protecting her cubs. Nila made life-long friends who shared her love of music. They cheered when she found Jim, the love of her life, and enjoyed his music together.

The Celebration of Life will be held on June 21 with visitation at 2:00-3:00 pm followed by a small gathering at 3:00 where friends and families can share comments and memories. It will be held at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw, 671 Snelling Ave S., St Paul, MN 55116 Any memorials can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance or the family.
