Mary Catherine (Winn) Caylor, 81, of Eagan, Minnesota passed away peacefully March 22, 2025 after a brief illness. Mary was born July 17, 1943 in Ojai, California to Francis and Corrinne (Johnson) Winn.
Mary grew up in a military family and lived in several places in the United States and Japan. She graduated from Mercy H.S. in Omaha, Nebraska and she attended Omaha University. She married Robert Caylor in February 1965 and they welcomed two sons and one daughter. Mary and her husband lived in Eagan, MN, their entire married life. She had an in-home state certified daycare for several years. Later, Mary worked with children with disabilities in the local school system, retiring at the age of 70.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert son, Michael; and brothers, F. Michael, Patrick, James.
Mary is survived by her children, James (Denise) Caylor, Susan (Jude) Gertz; grandchildren, Anthony, Hannah, Patrick, Hayden, and Alyson; siblings, Kathleen (James) Kennedy, Joseph (Rena) Winn, Janette (Charlie) Wiseman, Edward Winn, Corinne Neil, Nancy (Dale) Winn; nieces, nephews; sister-in-law, Judy Palmer; and other extended family and friends.
She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary was exceptionally kind and generous with her time and willingness to help others. She absolutely loved her dogs, and always had 1 or 2. She also loved collecting cardinals. She loved spending time with her family and friends and immensely enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble, reading, and baking. In her younger years, Mary was an excellent seamstress, and would knit, quilt and crochet. For years, she and her husband made Christmas candies and sent them to their family and friends.
Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, followed by a dinner at Mary's favorite restaurant, Mancini's in St. Paul.
The family is extremely grateful for the nursing and medical staff at Allina United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saint Paul, Humane Society.
