Maria Conception Garcia (Lozano)
May 25, 1935 - October 30, 2023

Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Great-Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Friend, passed away peacefully at the Villa St. Vincent at the age of 88.

Maria, known by many as Connie or Concha, was born in Denver, Colorado. Her family moved to Mexico where her father started his own business. She moved back to the states where she moved to Minnesota to be with her sisters. Connie met Ted while she was working for his family.

Connie and Ted raised their family in St. Paul prior to moving to Crookston in 1968. They later returned to St. Paul after Ted's retirement to be closer to their grown children and Connie's family.

Connie lived a good life and was a devoted mom to her children Maria, Linda (David), Jose, Theodore, Marc (Terri).

She was a dedicated grandma to Melanie (Chris), Michelle (Martin), Meranda (Rick), Chad (Kelcie), Jamie (Josh), Christina (Mark), Megan (Dan), Hannah, Gabriella (Joaquin), Emillo, Marissa, Katie, Joseph, Nicole (Brad) and Josh (Amanda) and a great-grandma to (37) great-grandchildren as well as a great-great-grandma to 8 great-great grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Ted, her daughters Esperanza and Socorro, her parents Antonia and Ted, Sisters Juanita, Sylvestra, Estefana, brothers Salvador, Theodoro, granddaughter Emily, great granddaughter Tiffany, great grandsons William and Jordan.

Connie enjoyed spending time going to her children and grandchildren's sporting and school events as they were growing up. She loved having family and friends gathered around the table and was sure to make everyone's favorite dishes with her home canned tomatoes and her chile. She loved a good party and was a huge fan of bridal and baby showers, these special events gave her a reason to wear her signature red lipstick and show up with her crocheted gift or dish towels. Some of her favorite past-times were crocheting, sewing, tending to her flower gardens, going to rummage sales, thrift store shopping, repurposing furniture she found on the curb, date nights with friends, playing Loteria Bingo with family for Brach's candy, Casino trips with friends and family. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake with family fishing and for several years they went to Pinehurst where many memories were made.

When she became a great grandma to Tiffany (Tuffy) and later William she created many wonderful memories with them during the years she spent teaching them to explore the adventures of life. She proudly continued creating these memories through each generation and firmly believed children are not only a gift but the future.

She was a devoted catholic who spent time volunteering during her years as a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was also a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe parish when she lived in St. Paul.

Connie was a strong, determined, stubborn, faithful, humorous, kind-hearted woman who believed you should never hold a grudge, especially when it comes to family as life is too short!

We are grateful for all the laughter, tears, memories and the legacy she left.

Remember abuelita, Robert Street will take you home!

¿Que dios los bendiga (God Bless You)!
