Margaret Marie Herrera

Margaret Marie Herrera (Lien), 64, of Maplewood, formerly of Saint Paul, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 after a short battle with multiple myeloma.

Margaret was born on August 18, 1961 in Willmar, Minnesota to Patricia (Patti) and Arlo Lien as youngest of three siblings. Margaret graduated from Frank B. Kellogg High School in Little Canada in 1979.

Margaret was a bookworm, gameshow enthusiast (especially Jeopardy), playing trivia, and listening to The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Peter, Paul and Mary. She was incredibly smart and a great listener. She loved when people would share their stories with her in person, a card, or a letter. She would remember such small details about things, which made you know she really cared.

She's preceded in death by her father, Arlo; mother, Patti; stillborn twin daughters, Catherine and Lucia; and stillborn grandson, Trip.

She's survived by her daughter, Gabriella (Richard); grandson, Vicente; sister, Anne (David); brother, Jonathan; nephews and niece, Jacob, Elizabeth, and John; as well as many extended relatives.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 20, with a visitation at 10 AM and service at 11 AM, at Simple Traditions located at 671 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN 55116.
