Laurene Marie Glader, age 90 of North Oaks, passed away peacefully October 27, 2025. Born in Minneapolis, Laurene lived a life defined by unwavering faith in her savior Jesus Christ. Laurene is survived by her children Tim (Barbie) Glader, Sonja Langlie, Tom (Carol) Glader, Mary (John) Hay; 14 grand children, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by Gene, her parents Herbert and Marie Jacobson, her brother and sister-in- law Herb and Norma Jacobson, and son-in-law Scott Langlie. A memorial service is at 6:30PM at Waverly Gardens 5919 Centerville Rd. North Oaks, MN. Reception following the service.
Laurene was born January 15, 1934. She was adopted by Herbert and Marie Jacobson on May 10, 1935. She graduated Minihaha Academy with honors, and received her Nursing R.N. from Hamline University School of Nursing, Mounds Midway unit in 1955. In June of 1957 she married Gene Glader. They spent their first year of marriage in Germany as Gene was stationed there in the army. They returned to the states where Laurene continued to practice nursing at Midway hospital until 1981. During that time she enjoyed raising her family at the home on Lake Owasso. In 1981 Laurene and Gene bought and moved to Cascade Lodge in Grand Marais, MN. Laurene was a follower of Jesus, a devoted mother and grandmother, she loved singing, playing the piano, sewing, laughing and being with family.
