Judith Rose Murray, age 77, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. Many hearts are broken, but there is comfort knowing she is finally free from suffering and pain.
Proceeded in death by parents, George and Etta; and siblings, Claire Anne, and George.
Survived by siblings, Carol, Richard, Patricia, Peter (Kathy), Susan (Tom), James (Barbara), Deborah, William (Debbie), Daniel (Joan), Ted (Gloria), Twin children; Brenda and Brandon, 2 grandchildren; Rick and Andrew (Mikayla), 3 great grandchildren; Mason, Emersyn, and Myles Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
She was born in Superior, Wisconsin, number 6 out of 13 children, then later moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota with her family. She attended Saint Paul Cathedral school, then in high school attended and graduated from Mechanic Arts, and took some classes at Saint Paul Technical Vocational College during high school.
She was a Candy Striper at a Nursing Home. She also volunteered at Ramsey Hospital (now known as Regions) delivering flowers, assisting patients in wheelchairs and such. She also worked as a Homemaker Home Health Aide, going to peoples homes and caring for them, with whatever they needed. She also worked at American Linen.
She use to go dancing at the Prom Center in Saint Paul, MN, where she met her former husband Frederick Murray and married in 1969. They were married for 13 years, later divorced. In 1970 she gave birth to twins, a girl (Brenda) and boy (Brandon).
She had struggles with mental health and over her later years, she attend different organizations for support in dealing with that. Two of them were NAMI Minnesota in Saint Paul and Guild South in West Saint Paul. She met a lot different people and made friends who were going through the same thing..
She played basketball, and softball, as a kid. She enjoyed being involved in different activities through her mental health support groups. They went on outings, cooking, baking, arts & crafts, making jewelry, performing little skits. She wasn't shy. She love to shop, whether it was buying or window shopping. She loved the outdoors, no matter the weather. She was a devout Catholic, said the rosary, and attended Adoration every week, and had a strong faith.
She was a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty, and friend. She helped her Mother, Etta a lot, with everyday things, like shopping, chores around the house, cooking, and helping care for her younger siblings. When she was married, she loved to entertain family and friends, organizing wedding showers, baby showers, birthday parties, parties for any occasion. She made Christmas fun, with cooking, decorating, singing, and playing music throughout the house.
She embodied of what a family truly means. She never judged anyone. She always loved you for who you were. She was there for every big cornerstone of everyone's life. She was a family member you could count on being there and loving you no matter what. She always had a big smile on her face and a wonderful laugh. she was loving, forgiving, non-judgmental, supportive, kind, would stick up for those she loved. She was a fighter for what she needed. Though she had challenges in her life she never quit. She taught us to do the right thing. She was always open for a hug. She loved being a grandma and great grandma. She was an active part of their
lives. She was a snazzy dresser, had an outfit for every occasion, and she loved music and dancing.
Judy will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her spirit, her humor, and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A visitation from 6-8pm. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw (488 Humboldt Ave., St. Paul). Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM, Friday, January 30, 2026, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church (1154 Seminole Ave., West Saint Paul). Visitation prior at 10 AM. Luncheon to follow service. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (2105 Lexington Ave. S., Mendota Heights).
