Jason William Heinl, age 57, of Oakdale, formerly of North St. Paul, passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2026.

Jason started working at Regions Hospital in the late 80's as a Pharmacy Technician and was a proud Union President and member of the AFSCME Local 722 (Council 5) chapter in which, there were many positive changes and developments with the help of Jason's determination and strive for change and justice for everyone.

Jason was an outstanding cook/baker (taught by his mother Trudie and Grandma Heinl) and captivated the hearts and taste buds of every person who was fortunate enough to taste his food. He will be remembered for his love of music and movies and his family and friends, but most importantly he will be remembered for his compassion and love for others. Jason was the kind of person that had enough space in his heart to ensure everyone he knew was loved and accepted for who they were.

They say angels walk amongst us, and Jason was one of them. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by his father, Jim, and brother, Troy.

Survived by mother, Trudie; sister, Heather; sister-in-law, Patty; and nieces: Tyler, Skyler, Andrea and Olivia.
