Jacqueline “Jackie” Perez, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, born on January 1, 1972, to her late father, Andres Perez, and her mother, Olga Ramos, passed away on Sunday, December 6th, at the age of 48.
Jackie was the loving mother of two children, Edyth Rojas and Joseph Rojas. They were the joys of her heart, and Jackie and Edyth, were inseparable, mother and daughter, but also, the best of friends.
Jackie was born in Brooklyn, New York. As a child, she enjoyed spending time with family and one of her favorite pastimes was singing and dancing to her favorite singing group, at that time, Menudo. She graduated from Bay Ridge High School, in Brooklyn; and her heart's desire was to serve people, in whatever capacity, and throughout her life that’s what Jackie became well known for.
To those who knew her, Jackie, is remembered for her contagious smile, vigor for life, resourcefulness, and her faith. During her lifetime, she spent many of her years working for the Social Security Administration, and at Caesar Chavez Elementary School, in St. Paul, as a secretary and paraprofessional. She also served as a personal care attendant and gave many hours volunteering for organizations that served resource insecure families. She was a go to for resources to anyone in need, and was always eager to help personally.
She is survived by her mother, Olga; daughter, Edyth; son, Joseph; two brothers, Miyaka Cochrane of California and Adrian Perez of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her father, Andres. Jackie was loved and is dearly missed by a host of family in New York, Puerto Rico, Florida, and California.
Jackie gave her life to Jesus, over 25 years ago, as she was baptized into Christ and committed to letting God lead her life. She was a beloved member of the Two Cities Church in the Twin Cities. Her faith in God sustained her hope in His promise, especially in the later years of her life as her health declined. While seemingly untimely and too soon for those who loved her; we take comfort in knowing that she was called home by her Lord and Savior, according to His will.
As we celebrate her life, let us remember Jackie’s beautiful smile, her generous heart, and spirit of courage and persevere, and resolve to put her full hope in the Lord as He has now called her into His Eternal Presence.
