Harry Kiyee

February 23, 1952 — June 21, 2025

Harry M. Kiyee, Sr. was born on February 23, 1952, in Maghribi, Marshall, Liberia, to the union of Brown T. Kiyee and Sarah Dayway Kiyee.

He spent his early childhood in Zwedru and Grand Gedeh and began his education in Harper, Maryland, Liberia. From a young age, Harry had a deep love for mathematics and agricultural studies. He often worked alongside his family on their cocoa farm, where his passion for agriculture was first cultivated.

As the eldest of nine children-five brothers and four sisters-Harry was known to many as "Daddy," a name that reflected the guiding role he played throughout his life.

Recognizing his ambition and dedication to learning, Harry's family pooled their resources to support his education. He first attended Haywood Mission School through the ninth grade, and during these formative years, he welcomed his first son, Dysia.

Harry later enrolled at the Booker T. Washington Institute in Kakata, where he pursued his love for agriculture more formally. It was there that he met the love of his life, Isatinner. Their union was a blessing, and together they built a beautiful family, raising three sons: Harry Jr., Rodney, and Joshua Kiyee.

After earning his degree in Agricultural Studies, Harry began his professional journey at the Ministry of Agriculture in Liberia. His dedication and excellence were recognized early, and he was awarded an international agricultural scholarship that took him to Ethiopia, Israel, Italy, Thailand, and Holland. Harry then returned to Liberia due to the outbreak of the Liberian Civil War.

Harry Kiyee, Sr. is survived by his four beloved children and eight treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by three loving brothers and three loving sisters.

Our dear father, grandfather, brother, and uncle transitioned into eternal rest on June 21, 2025, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

We will forever miss our "Daddy," whose wise, calm, and thoughtful presence shaped our lives in countless ways. His life was a testimony of intellect, humility, and love. He taught us the value of hard work, faith in God, and the importance of family. His legacy is etched in our hearts, and his teachings will live on in the generations to come.

We give God the glory for the life of Harry M. Kiyee, Sr. - a life well-lived and a soul now resting peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
