Gerald (Butch) Zafke, age 78 of St. Paul, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2025. Gerald was a quiet man with a calm demeanor who enjoyed spending time with family and friends in the backyard grilling. He had a passion for listening to music and an extensive collection of KISS and Elvis memorabilia. He was a man who possessed a creative spirit. He enjoyed working with his hands whether it was during his time in the Army, working on cars or assembling toy models. He was drafted to serve in the Army from 1966-1968 as an artillery mechanic. Following his service to his country, he had a career working in factories at Whirlpool and Brown and Bigelow.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Rhoda Zafke; brother Earnest Zafke; sisters Elaine Schmidt and Karen Olivarez.

Gerald is loved and remembered by his wife of fifty-eight years, Susan; sons Gerald Jr., Joseph (Patricia), Gregory (Fatima); sister, Carol Sitters and each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held in his honor, with details to be shared when arrangements are finalized.
