George's physical and spiritual pilgrimage on earth ended on February 23, 2026 after a valiant 4-year battle against cancer.
Son of Albert and Olga Haun, he was born and raised in St. Paul, where he worked for 40 years at Burlington/Northern as a Statistician.
His life was one of service to God, church, country and community.
He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, spending 2 tours in Vietnam. He was active for 30 years as a B.S.A. Scoutmaster for troop 82.
George taught by example, whether as a faithful Catholic, ski instructor, caring for his mother or mentoring his Scouts.
He enjoyed bicycling, camping, riding horseback, walking his beloved yellow labs and rallying with his Corvette buddies.
He will be missed by his sister Mary Ives (Ralph); 7 nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and his long-time companion, Mary.
Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, Randolph and Albert Streets March 10, 2026 with visitation at 10:00am and service at 11:00am.
Internment will be scheduled at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Many thanks to St. Therese of Woodbury for special care and service for George.
