It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of our mother, Gayle (Anderson) Meyer, of Hudson, WI, on June 3, 2026, at the age of 80.
Gayle was born on March 5, 1946, in Grand Forks, ND. She grew up on her family's farm in Fisher, MN, where she developed a strong work ethic and caring spirit that would define her life. After graduating from high school, she attended college in Mankato, MN, earning her teaching degree and beginning her career in Red Wing, MN.
Red Wing became her home for the next 42 years, where she raised her five children and built a life centered around family, friends, and community. In 2016, she moved to Hudson, WI, to be closer to her children and her greatest joy, her granddaughter, Elle Quist.
Gayle will be deeply missed by her children and granddaughter: Erik Meyer of Red Wing, MN; Kire Meyer-Quist (Rylan) of Hudson, WI; Kelle Femling (Mike) of Afton, MN; Chelle Meyer of Hudson, WI; Jodi Meyer of St. Paul, MN; and her beloved granddaughter, Elle Quist of New York.
She is also survived by her siblings: Judy (Paul) Helland of Mendota Heights, MN; Carolyn (Paul) Otto of Otsego, MN; and Peter (Mary) Anderson of Moorhead, MN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue (Al) Natvig of Iowa. Gayle is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A celebration of Gayle's life will be held on Friday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota, Coventry Chapel, 1840 University Avenue West, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55104. A light lunch and refreshments will be served following the service.
