Faye L. Jacobsen, age 78, of North Branch, Minnesota, passed away on June 15, 2025.
Faye was born on August 5, 1946, in Mankato, Minnesota, to John and Mildred (Gekeler) Timmerman. She was the youngest of their four children.
After attending Mankato High School, Faye married Dorman “Jake” Jacobsen, and together they had three daughters. The family relocated to California for many years. While there, Faye worked at a sewing factory. Upon returning to Minnesota, she worked at Woolworth’s in Mankato, drawing their ad layouts to be printed in the local newspaper. While working and also raising her daughters, she continued her education, earning an Associates Certificate at Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute, where she was the first woman there to study Mechanical Drafting. After graduating, she pursued her career at Sperry Univac/Unisys, Thermo King, and General Dynamics before retiring at age 62. Faye loved to draw, paint, plant flowers, craft, and had played the saxophone in her youth. She loved her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
Faye is survived by her siblings Bev (Ted) Kenne, Lois Schweim, and Bob (Marilyn) Timmerman; daughters Kelly (Ken) Hall, Karen (Tim) Hemphill, and Kathi Jacobsen (partner Thomas Greenwood), son-in-law Mark Elfenbein; stepsons Ray Jacobsen and Ron Jacobsen (partner Corky Toole), daughter-in-law Lisa (Ken) Dalton; grandchildren Blake Hall, Angie Jacobsen, Taryn (Doug) Herbert, Ericka (Jeff) Peña, Katelyn (Isaac) Earle, Zach Elfenbein; great-grandchildren Lydia Herbert, Vincent Herbert, Odin Earle, as well as her many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.
