Dorothy J. (Casey) Kenney

Dorothy J. Kenney (Casey), Age 92, was received into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her children on October 5, 2022.

We are grateful to Mom’s many special friends, the Little Sisters of the Poor Holy Family Residence, Our Lady of Peace Hospice, Sisters of St Clare Assisi Residence, People of Praise and her devoted Woman’s Group, Mothers of Priests, and the many people for whom she created special angels.

In Dorothy’s words,
“She was born in Duluth and died in St. Paul, in between she lived in St. Cloud and Minneapolis and had 8 children in all.  She and her husband Bill were married for 62 years.  He died in 2016 on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th.”.

Joining her husband, William (Bill) Kenney in Heaven, along with parents, Patrick and Mary Casey; infant daughter, Sheila; grandson, Bryan; brothers, Daniel and Patrick Casey; her relatives by marriage William and Teresa Kenney, Fr. Jerry Kenney, Genevieve & George Brophy, Teresa and Dick Sherry, Frank Kenney, Tom Kenney, Joseph Kenney, Kevin Kenney, Mary (Dom) Furia and Bobby Kenney.

Survived by 7 children, Pat (Linda), Mary Kay (John Sprangers), Bill (Janice), Rosie (Mike Rydberg), Fr. Kevin, Theresa and Maureen; 21 grandchildren, Emilie (Peter), Joseph, Nikolas, John, Sr M. Chroi Iosa, Henry, Alex, Tanya, Katie (Ozturk), Megan (Luke), Erin (Nathaniel), Kara, Ashley (Matthew), Kailyn, Madison (Lucas), David, Tim (Caitie), Jonathan (Tia), Anna (Marty), Benjamin, and Rhonda; 27 Great-Grandchildren, Sofie, Lukas, Lucy, Ruby, Olivia, Liam, Kolbe, Fulton, Aumia, Carl, Jeremiah, Judah, Declan, Emma, Jordyn (Neil), Makayla, Emersyn, Wyatt, Xavier, Olivia, Haley, Nevaeh, Tiffany, Hailey, Maria, Tatyanna, and Nikali; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Karsyn, Bennytt; Sibling, Sr. Jo Casey; in-laws, Bobbi Kenney, Cathy Borer, Judy Kenney, Sue Kenney; Terry Casey, Cookie Casey; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation concluding with prayer service is Monday, October 10th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at SAINT OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 215 S 8TH St, Minneapolis, MN as well as one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 11, 11:00 AM at the CATHEDRAL OF SAINT PAUL, 239 Selby Ave, St. Paul, MN. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
