Daniel Patrick Downing, age 43, of Minnesota, was born in Edina, Minnesota, on October 15, 1983, and passed away on October 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Daniel was a carefree and artistic soul who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved camping, bonfires, fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors, where he felt most at home surrounded by nature. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, unique spirit, abundant kindness, and wholehearted love for his family and friends.

A devoted Minnesota sports fan, Daniel proudly cheered on the Minnesota Wild and could often be found wearing his Vikings jersey on game day. Another favorite pastime was listening to music, and Daniel enjoyed all genres, always finding joy and connection through a wide variety of artists and styles.

No matter the circumstance or how he was feeling, when asked, "How are you?" his response was always, "I've never been better." That optimism and resilience left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Daniel had a remarkable ability to see the good in others and formed many cherished friendships throughout his life. His genuine heart, infectious humor, and caring nature touched countless people. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
