Chris Runtsch
March 15, 1980 - August 22, 2023

Chris passed away at home on August 22nd, surrounded by love and with Millie, our sweet Chihuahua, snuggled at his side.

Chris was a kind and gentle soul, caring friend, and an explorer and adventurer. He loved life, was always ready to try something new and never let limitations get in his way.

Chris was a dedicated Community Bridge participant for over 25 years; he had some great experiences with Community Bridge, and made many lasting friendships through the Bridge. He also had great friends at NE Metro 916 and at Hastings Lifeworks.

Chris was in his element while working on projects with Dad or Bob (he loved to work!), and he especially enjoyed family time with Sam and Theresa. Bowling, softball, adapted sports, dancing, art and special time with friends were some of his favorite activities. He also treasured time in his Lego room with the "guys" and disco lights, relaxing and listening to music. He LOVED wild socks and
was a huge WWE wrestling fan.

Chris was preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Lorraine Schneberger and Larry Runtsch, and by his uncle Mike Runtsch. He leaves warm memories with his parents, Steve and Sheri Runtsch, loving brother and sister-in-law Sam and Theresa Hirte-Runtsch, grandmother Margaret Runtsch, caring aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Chris was blessed to have Chris Ajer as his best friend for forty years, and the Ajer family as a second family. Also his loving respite family Marci and Bob Stein, long-time caregiver and friend Brian Ajer, and numerous support staff, teachers and caregivers all enriched Chris' life. Among Chris' many friendships, he especially treasured time with good friend and art partner Melissa McCann,
and special friend Miyuki Sellstedt.

We are grateful to the dedicated and caring team from Our Lady of Peace Hospice, including his wonderful Nurse Lynette, Chaplain Brian and Social Worker Amy, and the compassionate support of Simple Traditions by Bradshaw.

Memorials may be made in Chris' memory to Community Bridge (1945 Manton St, Maplewood, MN) or Our Lady of Peace Hospice
(2076 St. Anthony Ave, St Paul, MN).

There will be a Celebration of Life for Chris next spring or summer.
