Bruce Jones, age 80, of Minnesota, formerly of Portland, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2025.
Bruce was born on February 15, 1945, in Portland, Maine. In 1991, he moved to Minnesota, where he built a life rooted in family, service, and community. He served in the National Guard and brought that same sense of dedication to everything he did.
Bruce spent much of his career as a traveling medical marketing manager, a role that suited his outgoing nature and love of the open road. That passion carried over into retirement, when he and his wife, Joan, spent many years RVing and traveling the country together with their beloved dogs. Those road trips were some of their most cherished memories.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan Jones; daughters Julie Rowland and Wendy Wostrel; sons-in-law Kerry Rowland and Phil Wostrel; and his cherished grandchildren Tyler, Andy, Sam, Carter, and Maddie. Bruce was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to watch and support his grandchildren at their many youth sporting events and activities.
Bruce also had a lifelong love of aviation. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was deeply involved in the local model aviation community. He proudly served on the boards of several model clubs in the North Metro area, sharing his time and talents generously.
Bruce will be remembered for his warm spirit, tireless dedication to family, and the joy he found in both travel and flight. His legacy of love, loyalty, and adventure will live on in all who knew him.
