Saint Paul

Bonnie June Georgesen, 100, passed away peacefully on March 18th at her assisted living apartment in St. Paul with family by her side.

Bonnie was born on November 9th, 1925 in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl and Dora (Brouillette) Eveleth of Salix, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Salix and married Raymond Georgesen of Hubbard, Nebraska on January 26, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bonnie spent most of her married life in South Sioux City, Nebraska where she was affiliated with St. Michael's Catholic Parish and School. She loved to read, garden, travel, do puzzles, fish with her husband and family and watch Timberwolves games in her later years. She enjoyed all family activities and her home was always open to family and friends. She loved animals, especially visits from the family dogs and was always well stocked with Soup Bone treats.

She celebrated her 100th birthday in November with a party and a smile on her face.

Bonnie was an inspiration to her family. She was a lifelong learner with a keen perception, a wonderful sense of humor, an appreciation and joy for life's blessings and a wonderful smile. She had a positive attitude and had the ability to see the good in things. She was gracious and kind. She kept these to her final breath. She was very spiritual. She was the source of many prayers for those in need.

Surviving to relish her memories are her daughter Rebecca Georgesen (South Sioux City), sons Bruce Georgesen (Michelle) and Mark Georgesen (Barb) of St. Paul, Minnesota; Granddaughters Chelsea Georgesen of St. Paul, Stephanie Georgesen (Kate Benton) of Lauderdale, Minnesota.

Preceding her in death were her husband Raymond, her sisters Agnes Dudas (Niles, Michigan), Maxine Lindberg (Marion, Iowa), brother Romaine (Salix), her grandson Boone Kirby (Salem, Oregon), sisters in law Nadine Harris (Homer, Nebraska), Geneva Van Cleave (Homer, Nebraska), Luverne Rembold (Blair, Nebraska), Margie Jensen (Lincoln, Nebraska) and many nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Lexington Landing and the team at Optage Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided.

A memorial service will be held at a future date and her ashes will be buried next to her husband Raymond at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Salix, Iowa.
