A'miah Lynnita Armstrong-Walker

February 23, 2001 — May 19, 2026

Miah was born on February 23, 2001, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Amanda Walker-Hunter and Reginald Armstrong. Miah was raised in a close-knit family (and extended family), and she loved her family deeply.

Miah joined the AAU basketball world at the tender age of eight years old. She found a deep love for the game and went on to play in more than 1,000 games, traveled to multiple cities, and played for variety of teams including South High School, FAIR, Eden Prairie High School, Urban Stars, MYAS, and Get Shook. A natural athlete, Miah was small, fast, fearless and could get to the basket with ease!!

Most of her school years were spent at Fair School, however she attended Eden Prairie High School for three years before returning to Fair School for her Senior year, graduating in 2019.

In 2020, Miah's (mom's side) of the family grew, and she went from being a little sister to a big sister and was beyond ecstatic! In 2021, she began working at Honda and was able to accomplish a major milestone: purchasing her first car on her own, a 2017 Chevy Camaro. On September 16, 2025, the greatest thing of all happened to Miah, when her longtime partner, gave birth to their son, Akari and she became a mom. Akari's arrival gave her a renewed sense of purpose and transformed the way she viewed her future.

At first meeting, Miah was a quiet, calm, and nonchalant soul, until she warmed up toyou. Then her smile and selflessness became absolutely contagious. She loved life and desired to enjoy every single day to the fullest. In every sense, Miah was everyone's favorite person not because she sought attention, but because her spirit naturally drew people in. Miah gave much and didn't want anything in return. She enjoyed traveling, eating, chilling and not to mention, she stayed with a fresh cut, fresh twist, a nice fit, and loved J's. She could make you laugh when you were sad, listen when you needed an ear, and offer a shoulder to cry on when life became heavy.

A'miah will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her maternal Grandparents, Lynn and Kenneth Walker; Brother, Tre Hunter.

A'miah leaves to cherish her memory her Mother, Amanda Walker-Hunter (Darryl); Father, Reginald Armstrong; Paternal Grandparents, Benita Armstrong, Reginald Armstrong Sr., and Debra Hill; Great-Grandmother, Marjorie White; Siblings, Ta'Veontae Walker, Taj Hunter, Tye Hunter, and Tru Hunter; Aunts, Stephanie Hammond, Roxanna Hill; Uncles, Denito Armstrong, James White; Partner Desirae Elmberg; Son, Akari Walker, along with countless relatives and many friends who became family.
