Loving Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather and mentor; Richard H. Novy (Dick), Age 66 of Clear Lake South Dakota, passed away from a tough fight with cancer. Preceded in death by his Father Henry Novy and Mother Velna Novy; Sisters Marilyn, Diane, and brother Michael. Survived by Daughters Rachel Novy (Kurt Ploog) Jennifer Novy, Amy Novy-Ebertz (Vince Ebertz) and Cicely Novy. Doting Grandfather to Raymond, Tristan, Noah, Isabella, Sequoia, Gianna, Anastasia & Cash. Sisters and brothers Pam (Mike) Pat, Paul (Melanie) Jim and Mark (Vikki). Richard grew up and farmed with his family in South Dakota then moved to Minneapolis in his early twenties. He lived his life as a carpenter, welder and most of all musician. He enjoyed animals, cooking, science and a good political debate. He was lover of all music genres but his heart belonged to the jazz circuit. He was an influential member of the jazz community for nearly 40 years and played with many of the greats. Everyone who met him enjoyed his stories and you could count on him to fix and repair anything for you. He leaves behind a great many friends and loved ones and will be missed immensely.
